This role provides an outstanding opportunity to collaborate in a local as well as global and dynamic environment with colleagues across a variety of business functions in a modern tech business of P&C Solutions.
The role has the following key responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility as Digital Product Owner for China Solutions for a suite of solutions.
- Developing a consistent and detailed target architecture covering business, technical, data and enterprise concepts.
- Agreeing the architecture roadmap and aligning with product strategies and value-creation whilst ensuring delivery.
- Finding new and innovative approaches and technologies to enable our vision including partnerships and insure-tech options.
- Translating business concepts into solution designs from the product level up to the overall eco-system level.
- Engage in client meetings to support with technical expertise.
- Imbuing a culture of client-centric and effective solution design thinking and methods across the team
- Review progress of all projects against the agreed strategy and project brief and when necessary identify and take steps to ensure that all agreed objectives are achieved
- Ensure that the teams implement Q&A and methodologies in Software Engineering and Operations.
- Identify, evaluate and buy or build new capabilities that will meet the current and future needs of our clients
- Co-develop winning value propositions and solutions together with client management, underwriting and P&C Solutions functions
- Help the team and Swiss Re's clients to develop and deliver their digital strategy
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, business experts, engineering teams and foster strong collaboration beyond organizational boundaries towards a coherent, consistent and world class set of geo capabilities.
- Work with global UX, product, architecture and engineering teams in delivering solutions.
- Identify new and develop existing relationships with vendors and partners.

Chief InfoTech and Data Office (CIDO) is globally responsible for delivering solutions building and running Swiss Re's Reinsurance business. We are diverse team of specialists who are passionate in providing state-of-the-art solutions for our Reinsurance business. Our primary objectives are to help Swiss Re's Reinsurance business strengthen its sales dimension, enhance productivity, reduce the cost basis and be a key driver for achieving top and bottom line growth targets. We create a world-class platform for the Reinsurance business to support the value chain end-to-end. While this role focuses on China Solutions and you working closely with the local business team, you will maintain a strong collaboration with our global Reinsurance Solutions and P&C Solutions teams based in other Swiss Re offices.

About You
You are results-oriented, you embody partnership and actively seek creative solutions to improve things. To succeed in this role, you should be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a lot of drive and positive energy. You like to run multiple projects at the same time, lead and coach delivery teams, be at the tech sales forefront and have a comprehensive, end-to-end delivery role. You are experienced in leading and developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle. You have in-depth knowledge of Cloud (particularly Microsoft Azure Cloud and Alibaba Cloud) and industry to drive technical service/solution direction for the product area.
As a native problem-solver, you can navigate ambiguity and are not scared to try new things. You like to present concepts and solutions with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences. You can convince clients with your expertise and your ability to market our solutions. You have graduated with a Bachelors or a Master's degree in business, computer science, insurance or equivalent. You have a passion to learn about how the business are using our solutions as well as the technical aspects of the solutions themselves. You would a great fit if you question and challenge the status quo and you are comfortable in an agile and fluid landscape.
Finally, you should possess a range of skills and the commitment to expand them. The most important skills and experience we are looking for include (but are not limited to):
- Minimum of 10 years working experience in the technology industry or any other industry with a distinct focus on cloud-native technologies and building modern digital solutions, ideally in the risk industry (re-/insurance).
- Hands-on experience with Cloud technologies on Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud with deep technical and functional knowledge as a solution architect.
- Experienced Product Owner with a track record in delivering a product end-to-end (from product vision to backlog to operationalization), leveraging frameworks such as Kanban, Scrum, SAFE or Lean.
- Passionate to deliver and operate tech solutions for our clients in a cost-efficient, professional and customer-focused way. You have profound experience in converting business needs and opportunities into efficient and effective solutions.
- Experience in risk consulting, risk management or re-/insurance industry is a big plus.
- Strong commercial mentality and business acuity
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in an international context and working across different locations.
- Great negotiation skills and ability to make convincing pitches to clients including C-Suite or vendor discussions.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, including clear articulation of technical topics to a non-technical audience
- You like to work in a team and are an excellent networker and connector. You are at ease to effectively communicate across all levels of hierarchy.
- You do not give up easily when facing resistance. In contrary, you are motivated by challenges and find ways to convince and influence people to get to the best outcome.
