Procurement Specialist [Switzerland]


 

Creoptix is an innovative, fast-growing brand of Malvern Panalytical located in Wädenswil near Zurich (Switzerland). Our mission is to enable life scientists to accelerate discovery by providing innovative tools for molecular interaction analysis. Our instruments are used in life science research labs within academia and industry.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Procurement Specialist to help us make a significant difference in how we make the tools that measure the small things.

Department: Supply Chain and Operations
Location: Wädenswil, Switzerland

Your Task will be
  • Manage the procurement and sourcing of components, consumables, production equipment and services, ensuring purchases are made from approved and qualified partners, in line with procedures and processes.
  • Evaluate and appraise new and current suppliers whilst working closely with Manufacturing Engineering to identify cost and lead time reduction opportunities.
  • Negotiate price, payment, delivery and other contractual terms with suppliers for production and non-production spends.
  • Work with the Head of Supply Chain, R&D team and other key stakeholders on NVI projects to select the best quality and most cost effective suppliers, including long lead-time and capital investment items, at the earliest possible stage of projects.
  • Initiate and run supplier quality and simplification projects to deliver quality, cost and efficiency gains.
  • Take responsibility together with internal Buyers to improve internal purchasing KPIs and developing new KPIs as required.
  • Work with the Global Lead Buyers to align sourcing strategies and create synergies.
  • Handle the end-to-end Purchase Order process in SAP (creation, approval flows and release).
  • Create new Vendor requests; maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase pricing; update master data related to materials.
  • Work with Finance regarding the tracking and payment of Vendor invoices.
  • Monitor and report on actual Supply Chain performance and spend.
  • Support component change management process.

What we expect
To be successful in this role, you have:
  • CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement or Supply Chain Management degree
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Fluent English; excellent communication and presentation skills; an ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent data and analytical skills
  • Ability to build good working relationships, influence others and team player
  • Collaborative mindset to be able to contribute to and pull together different teams across the business
  • Ability to deal with cultural differences
  • Good knowledge of negotiation skills, supplier development, contract law, and lean supply techniques

Great to have:
  • Experience in a high technology manufacturing or assembly business
  • Proficient level of German (spoken and written)
  • Six sigma toolset and experience to tackle problems in a data driven way
  • Ability to gather and interpret information from multiple database sources, to analyse data and present conclusions
  • SAP or a similar ERP system experience
  • Quality informed decision-making skills
