Assistant Inventory Manager [Nigeria]


 

Job Summary:

The Assistant Inventory Manager is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective management of inventory within the organization. This includes overseeing inventory levels, monitoring stock movements, coordinating with suppliers, and working closely with the inventory manager to ensure accurate and timely inventory management. The Assistant Inventory Manager also assists in implementing inventory control procedures and optimizing inventory systems to minimize costs and maximize productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in monitoring inventory levels and stock movements to ensure optimal levels are maintained.

2. Support the inventory manager in analyzing inventory data and generating reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, sales, and operations, to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.

4. Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

5. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of inventory and resolve any issues related to shipments or quality.

6. Assist in conducting regular physical inventory counts and reconciling variances.

7. Participate in inventory audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.

8. Assist in analyzing slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend strategies for inventory reduction.

9. Utilize inventory management software to monitor inventory levels, generate reports, and track stock movements.

10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in inventory management to suggest improvements and enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.

2. Previous experience in inventory management or related roles is preferred.

3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful reports.

4. Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.

5. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory records.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

9. Knowledge of inventory control procedures and best practices.

10. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
