We are working with a large Mainstream primary school close in Walton-on-Thames who are looking for experienced and qualified Learning Support Assistant to start when the school term resumes in June.
The role will be to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 girl who is going through a diagnosis for ASD. The successful applicant will need to be both comfortable with and knowledgeable about Autism and techniques to assist the child.
Your key duties as a Learning Support Assistant will be to:
· Support a Year 2 pupil in a 1:1 setting on a daily basis .
· Follow IEPs.
· Manage any challenging behaviour.
· Work under the direction of the class teacher.
It is essential that you have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN and being able to help children with their work who are academically struggling.
The school is set in the beautiful location of Walton-on-Thames close to the banks of the Thames river making it an idyllic location. They teach the national curriculum to children aged 3 – 11 years following the EYFS framework and Cornerstones scheme of work.
