We are seeking a Farm worker to support our Farm Manager with the day to day running of the broiler/breeder poultry farm in Greetham, Rutland
Experience would be great but we are happy to train someone who is willing and reliable. There is also an opportunity to progress to managing your own farm.
What you will need:
- Willing to undertake NVQ and further training as required
- Literate / Numerate for documentation recording.
- Ability to work as part of a small team
- Reliable
- Experience in farming and or poultry is desirable but not necessary
Due to the risk of disease transmission we are unable to employ anyone who keeps any avian species
Main duties, once fully trained:
- Daily egg collection
- Ensure that the farms run so that bird welfare is never compromised
- Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter and lighting within the agreed standards, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided
- Communicate with the Farm Manager ensuring that information is provided promptly and accurately.
- Manage and control Visitors/Contractors on site ensuring that work is carried out to required specification and quality and work is carried out in a safe manner.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately recorded
Benefits:
- Salary - £25,700 per year
