Coronial Services are currently looking for an full time Administration Support Officer for our Ellerslie, Auckland Office.

You will be working in a fast-changing environment that will require a high level of agility and resiliency.

You will have strong interpersonal skills that will support your work with the NIIO Co-ordinators, the Clinical Advisors, the Coroners, and external stakeholders but also be capable of dealing with distraught family members in sensitive circumstances. An ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

You will be expected to provide excellent and highly organised administrative support to NIIO Co-ordinators, the Clinical Advisors, the associate Coroners and Coroners. You will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

If you have the following key skills, then we would like to hear from you:

  • Work effectively and calmly in stressful situations
  • Be able to handle viewing photographic coronial material
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bring an understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga
  • Highly organised, great at multi-tasking and able to prioritise effectively
  • Enjoy working in a reactive as well as a proactive and fast paced environment
  • Professional and confident phone manner
  • Exceptional record-keeping skills with accurate typing and data entry
  • A good working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to work both with direction and independently
  • A desire to learn and adapt
  • Relevant previous experience from other similar roles

This is a challenging role that will allow you to utilise your empathy, administrative experience, people and relationship management skills to a high level and be part of the team that provides New Zealanders with a first-class Coronial Service.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

Salary Range: The remuneration band for this role is $52,343 to 72,249 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
