Job Description:
The Investment Associate is responsible for assisting superior in meeting the company’s targets for investment income and fund level. He/she is assigned of a portfolio to manage and is expected to perform to meet the portfolio’s targets and objectives. The Investment Associate provides analysis and investment guidance on a variety of companies and industries that the company may intend to invest.
The duties of the Investment Specialist may include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Buys and sells equity securities on behalf of the company. Implements and executes sound investment strategies for the portfolio being managed to ensure that target return is achieved.
- Regularly monitors portfolios to ensure a well calculated risk and reward ratio for the equity investments being handled.
- Prepares investment research reports andprovides financial insights on publicly-traded companies and/or sectors to facilitate investment decisions within the department.
- Recommends and reports to the management ideas and strategies that can further improve portfolio performance.
- Assists Division and Department Head in setting objectives, targets and strategies of the department in support of the corporate goals;
- Administers matters such as IC, internal and external auditor requirements, submission, documentation and other regulatory and related matters.
- Builds and ensures strong network with Banks, Investment Houses, Stock Brokers, external auditor and various government agencies.
- Coordinates with internal departments such as Accounting, Legal, Strategic Planning and Compliance to ensure well-ordered coordination and work efficiency.
- Attends Economic and Market briefings, forums, Corporate/ Company presentations necessary for the analysis of the portfolio
Qualifications:
- Graduate of bachelor's degree from a reputable college or university with major in any finance, economics, accounting and business course.
- with at least 1 year of experience in stock trading and investment fund management
- Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment and related spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation applications
- Excellent financial analysis, investment and economic knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent investment research skills
